Recently, the BMC launched its monsoon-specific website—www.mumbaimonsoon.in— which, it promises, will contain real-time update on rainfall, traffic, reports, press releases and high tide data 
The BMC has installed 230 water-pumps in 213 flood-prone spots to prevent water-logging 
Two round-the-clock helpline numbers have been launched: 108 for disasters and 1916 to register complaints 
    Nodal officers of agencies such the fire-brigade, police, traffic police, BEST, railways and government hospitals will be present at theBMC's disaster cell to coordinate efficiently in an emergency 
    The BMC will also broadcast live monsoon updates on radio 
    Thirty-six life guards have been deployed across six beaches across the city to prevent any water-related mishaps during floods
