Mumbai: Further restrictions on the use of plastic could soon be imposed in the state. CM PrithvirajChavan said a proposaltoban theuseof plasticwould betaken soon.
The environment department proposedtoextendthe ambitof theban toincludethermocol and other plastic items. On World Environment Day on Tuesday, Chavan supported the idea of a ban on plastic.
Mayor Sunil Prabhu and BMC chief Sitaram Kunte appealed to citizens to make Mumbai green by planting moretrees and notlitter asthisclogsdrains andleadstowater-logging. TNN
